Import a .CSV file

Import a .CSV file

This method is ideal for one-off imports of data, if you have a list of people with no photos from any third-party application.

Format your CSV file

  • The maximum file size allowed is 5MB.

  • CSV extensions only. If you have a spreadsheet format file, save it as a CSV before uploading.

  • Semicolons are commas that are accepted separators. You can't mix them, though.

  • Make sure the Custom Metadata Field Type in Nirovision matches the data format of your CSV. For example, if you have an EmployeeID Number Field, you won't be able to upload your file if one of your entries has a letter in their EmployeeID. If this is the case, recreate the Metadata field with the correct type, and then proceed with the import.

Import your CSV file

  1. On Web 🖥️, go to the Profiles tab.

  2. Select Create Profile > Import Identities in the top left-hand corner. Click on the Import button next to the CSV File option, to start the import process.

  3. Search through your files for the CSV you want to upload and select it. You can also drag and drop it.

  4. Map your CSV file columns with your Custom Metadata fields. Skip those you don't want to map. Navigate to the previous step with the arrows, or hit Reset if you want to start over. Click on Finish Mapping once you're done.

  5. Click Import Profiles to start the process. A dialogue will confirm the number of profiles that have been created, and inform you of any errors.
