Employment Hero HR integration

When this integration is enabled, Employment Hero HR becomes your source of truth for the Nirovision database of profiles:

  • When a new Employee is created in EH HR, it will be synced to Nirovision within 60 seconds, creating a profile.

  • When an employee is disabled in EH HR, it'll be disabled in Nirovision (based on the integration settings).

  • Only the person’s name, profile image (if any), email and phone number are synced to Nirovision. And because employees are responsible for keeping their own personal data updated in EH HR, the data being pulled should be generally up-to-date.

When a new Employee clocks on for the first time via Doorkeeper Pro or QR code, they will be asked to confirm their name, email and/or phone number. If the email and/or phone matches a record synced from EH HR, the image collected during this clock on event will be added to this person's Nirovision profile.


⚠️ Before you start

  • API access is available to Employment Hero HR Platinum subscriptions. Read more.

  • Only Admins or the Owner of the Employment Hero HR account can create applications and authorise integrations.

  • Profiles created (or updated) via this integration will display a widget with the record’s Employee ID (KeyPay's internal ID). If you don't see it, follow this guide to troubleshoot.


How to enable the EH HR integration

First, collect the integration's Redirect URL (and store safely)

  1. On the Nirovision Web App 🖥️ go to Settings > Company > API & Integrations to find the list of integrations Nirovision has listed. Click on the Add button next to the Employment Hero HR row.

  2. Copy the Redirect URL, you'll need it soon

  3. Cancel to dismiss, we'll return to this in a few minutes to configure the integration.

Then, create a Nirovision application in EH

  1. Login to your Employment Hero Portal, and navigate to the Developer Portal.

  2. In the Developer Portal, click Add Application to configure an integration.

  3. Name your application Nirovision, tick every Admin and User permission, and paste the Redirect URL you collected from Nirovision in the first step. Click Create when ready.

  4. If the application was created successfully, the Client ID and Client Secret will appear on screen. Store safely, you'll need it in the next step of this setup.

  5. Close the screen, you should see your new application listed.

Lastly, configure the EH HR integration in Nirovision.

  1. On the Nirovision Web App 🖥️ go to Settings > Company > API & Integrations to find the list of integrations Nirovision has listed. Click on the Add button on the Employment Hero HR line to begin the setup process.

  2. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret you collected in the previous step into the corresponding fields. Save when done.

  3. You'll be redirected to Employment Hero to authorise access to your HR account. Log in with your Admin/Owner credentials.

  4. Click Allow to grant Nirovision access to your Employee database in Employment Hero HR.

  5. Once authorised, you'll be redirected to Nirovision. Choose the organisation within EH HR you'd like to sync employee data from.

  6. In the Profile syncing section of the integration settings:

    1. Choose a label to apply to synced Identities so you can easily distinguish them. Make sure there's an Access Rule for it.

    2. Choose how to assign profile images during enrolment: merge using email AND phone, or email OR phone.

    3. Save when ready to enable the integration. You will be redirected back to the API & Integrations page of Nirovision. A green [Enabled] tag will appear next to Employment Hero HR to indicate that the integration is currently working.

The first time someone presents to a Doorkeeper kiosk, they will be asked to provide their name, email, and phone.

  • Nirovision will look for a match against the records synced from Employment Hero based on this option.

  • If at least one character does not match, a duplicate will be created. Learn how to fix them!


Common issues

Integration widget missing

The most common reason behind a missing integration widget in a Nirovision profile is duplicate records for the same person.

If the first time someone checks in via a Doorkeeper or QR code the details provided do not match any employee details synced from Employment Hero, Nirovision will create a new profile for this person.

Search the Profile tabs for duplicates. If you found one, merge following these instructions.

Employee not synced

If an Employee that exist in EH HR has not been synced to a Nirovision profile, it's worth checking:

  1. The the correct Organisation was selected in Step 5.

  2. If you worked with our support team to narrow down your sync to one or more teams only, make sure that this employee belongs to any of them.

How to disable the integration

  1. On the Nirovision Web App. 🖥️ , navigate to Settings > Company > API & Integrations.

  2. In the Integrations tab, click on the Edit button next to the Employment Hero HR row.

    1. Selecting Disable will deactivate the integration, but won't delete it entirely. You can reactivate it at any time.

    2. Selecting Delete will permanently delete the integration and unlink all profiles.

    3. In both cases:

      1. No employees will be synced to a Nirovision profile anymore.

      2. Employee updates from Employment Hero will not update Nirovision profiles anymore.
