Create or edit a survey

Surveys are lists of questions aimed to capture and act on information at Doorkeeper points of entry.

Surveys can be completed on-screen using Doorkeeper, by scanning Doorkeeper's QR code using a mobile device, or submitted in advance as part of a pre-enrolment process.

  • Surveys can have one or multiple questions, that can be updated remotely via the Nirovision Web App.

  • You can display different surveys based on who's in front of Doorkeeper, by configuring Access Rules.

  • Survey answers can be used to stop people at the entrance and populate Profile fields.

  • Survey answers are stored securely in Nirovision; they can be reviewed and edited via the apps, or exported to .csv at a moment's notice.

This document explains how to create a survey, how to configure actions, and how to edit or duplicate a survey.

How to create a survey

You can create a survey on the Nirovision Web App 🖥️ by clicking on your company name on the top right corner and navigating to Settings > Company > Documents, and clicking on the Surveys tab.

  1. To add a survey, click on the Add Survey button on the top right of the screen.

  2. Enter a Name for the survey.

    1. This is how the survey will appear named in the Access Rules and the Documents list.

    2. It's important to know that surveys are sorted alphabetically by name, so if you need to ensure that two or more of them are completed in a specific order, prefix them with a number.

  3. Click on Advanced to set up validation, approval and expiration settings:

    1. Select the validation method to be used for approving the survey.

    2. Select whether or when the survey's responses are due to be expired.

    3. Select whether or when the survey's responses are to be deleted.

  4. To configure survey fields, write questions, and define actions for answers, click on Form.

📌 Form fields

  • To change the order of your fields, click on the three dots next to any form field, and Move it up or down.

  • To delete a field, click on the three dots next to the form field and select Remove.

  • To add a new field, scroll to the bottom of the survey and click Add field. Choose between the twelve field Type options:

    • Date.

    • Number.

    • Phone.

    • PDF, allows for the review of a PDF document as part of a survey.

    • Select, allows for single or multiple answers.

    • Signature, displays a field that allows for a signature to be drawn.

    • Text body supports full markdown to format paragraphs, highlight titles, and include images and hyperlinks.

    • Text, allows for open-ended textual answers.

    • Timestamp, captures date and time.

    • Yes/No, allows for boolean selection.

    • Video, allows for the ability to playback video.

    • Page breaks, to accommodate multiple pages in your survey.

  • To make a field mandatory, tick the Required checkbox. Whenever unticked, the question can be skipped or left blank.

📌 Answer actions

To stop someone based on an answer (available for field type Boolean and Select).
  1. Click on the Stop dropdown in the Field section, and select the answer based on which person will be stopped.
  2. Click save when you're finished

To store number and text field answers against the profile record
  1. Create a custom metadata field in Profiles.
  2. Once created, you can select this field to store an answer, which will be displayed alongside other Profile metadata.

How to edit a survey

  1. On the Nirovision Web App 🖥️ , click on your company name on the top right corner and navigate to Settings > Company > Documents, and click on the Surveys tab.
  2. To edit a survey, click on the Edit button next to the survey you'd like to modify.
  3. Make your changes, and save when ready.

How to duplicate a survey

  1. On the Nirovision Web App 🖥️ , click on your company name on the top right corner and navigate to Settings > Company > Documents, and click on the Surveys tab.

  2. To duplicate a survey, click on the Duplicate button next to the survey you'd like to modify.

  3. The duplicate survey should now appear in your list, ready to be modified and set live.
