About alarms

About alarms

Alarms have multiple use cases, for example:

  • An email can be sent to HR if someone has a temperature higher than 37.5°C.

  • A push notification can be sent to a site manager if someone is not authorised to enter the premises.

  • A message can be posted on Slack to inform a Host of a visitor's arrival.

  • Alerts can update third-party systems via webhooks.

Nirovision supports multiple types of alarms for different use cases. This series of documents explain in detail how to set up, configure and use each alarm type.

For each alarm type, you can also:

Alarm Types

Each alarm type has specific options to configure, and some alarms also allow for an inclusive/exclusive setting.

Profile alarms, that alert upon the sight of an individual.

  • A particular person is seen (a specific Identity in your database is recognised).

  • Someone that is not a particular person is seen (someone in your database - that is not a specific identity - is recognised).

Label alarms, that alert upon the sight of anyone from a group.

  • Someone from a group is seen (an identity in your database with that Label is recognised).

  • Someone that does not belong to a group is seen (an identity in your database without that Label is recognised).

Check-In alarms, that alert about occurrences related to checking in and out of premises using Doorkeeper kiosks.

Attendance alarms, that alert about late check-ins/out of individuals or groups.

Temperature alarms, that alert upon an elevated temperature read from a connected thermometer.

💡 Baseline temperature is your average body temperature, different for each person. Nirovision matches temperature reads to identities in the system, building a baseline for each person over time. This provides more accurate alerts upon anomalies. Learn more about baselines here.
